One of the most common plumbing problems people encounter is having blocked drains. They can strike when you least expect it, so it’s better to be prepared when dealing with it.
Here are tools that can help clear your blocked drains at home.
1. Plunger
A plunger can clear a blocked drain by using the forces of suction and compression. It helps loosen the clog when you pull it upward and then forces the clog in the other direction when you push it.

Plungers are easy to use and are available in most hardware stores.
2. Snake and CCTV
There’s a plumber in Revesby that does cctv drain inspection and can identify what is blocking your drain. Once the blockage is near the opening, the plumber snake can be used to reach out for the foreign object that causes clogging.
At the end of it, there’s a rotating coal the spins rapidly that collects the blockages until it has been cleared.
Here’s a video from The Home Depot showing how to snake a clogged drain.
3. Baking soda and white vinegar
This is one of the easiest DIY drain cleaner. Simply pour baking soda into the drain and then followed by the white vinegar. The chemical reaction produces oxygen and cleans the insides of the pipes. This may require the process to be repeated, and once the mixture has worked, you may pour hot water into your pipes to remove the remaining residue.
Check this video from How Do You Do on how he easily unclogged a drain with the baking soda and vinegar mixture.
4. Wire Brushes
Wire brushes can be used to clean the gunk’s left inside the pipes. They work like a toothbrush and are used with soap and hot water.
5. Hydro- jet
Hydro-jets spray a powerful stream of water. This method is safer and can push the solid blockage inside your clogged pipes.
