4 ways to protect your property from break-ins

Having a safe neighbourhood doesn’t necessarily guarantee a burglar-free environment. Home break ins may happen while you’re out at work or in school.

Although it may be fun to decorate your home with fancy ornaments, gadgets and whatnots, it’s still better If you also invest on some security measures that’ll prevent such crimes from happening.

Seeing your home ransacked is the last thing you want. In fact, it’s the last thing anyone wants!

So, to keep this from happening, here are four ways to protect your property from break ins:

Secure your doors and windows

It’s already a given to always lock your doors and windows whenever you leave home or go to bed. But the question is, ‘Will it be enough?’

Well, just as the saying goes: ‘You can’t be too careful.’

Installing one or more locks will get the job done, but still won’t be enough to deter these criminals. They can pick the locks one after the other, or just break the windows in order to get in!

The most secure option is to install a keycard access system and glass break sensors. Implementing these technologies will decrease the likelihood of possible break ins in the future.

Make it seem like you’re always home

Leaving some of the lights on will let anyone know that you’re currently home. Burglars only target properties that are currently unattended, as to avoid unwanted attention (They’re not ninjas!).

Motion sensor lights can also help scare off burglars who operate at night. A good strategy in placing these lights is to keep them hidden. That way, they’ll be caught off-guard and leave your property alone.

Adopt a guard dog

Dogs aren’t dubbed as man’s best friend for nothing. The mere presence of these furry guardians is enough to strike fear on intruders—not unless they’re too cute and fluffy to be feared.

A medium or large sized dog is preferred if you want to keep your home security levels high. Burglars usually avoid houses that have dogs.

Install CCTV cameras

When you think about security, CCTV cameras will always pop up. It became a necessity for businesses, big or small.

It’s a fact that the police have apprehended heaps of criminals with the help of these cameras. If businesses use this, why not use them at home too, right?

You can employ the help of professionals that install CCTVs in Parramatta, Sydney and North Shore. Catching hooligans red-handed will serve as a warning to not mess around your property.

As mentioned before, you can never be too careful when it comes to having a secure home. Not only are your prized possessions at stake, but your lives as well.

Always be vigilant around your neighbourhood and report any unusual happenings to the authorities.

[SC1]Watch out when using “also” or “as well” in one statement.😉
